Her Winnings
Fig. 4.2 Cover of Dance Spirit
It was no surprise when Lauren Froderman's name was called by host, Cat Deeley, as the winner of So You Think You Can Dance Season 7. Even the judges knew that Lauren would bring home the win (Knolle, 2012). The only person shocked about the win was Froderman herself. During a Q&A session, when asked whose name she thought would be called she replied, "Kent! I really did not think I was going to win. I just feel so, so blessed and honored." (Knolle, 2012).
As part of her winnings, aside from being named America's Favorite Dancer, Froderman got to be featured in and on the cover of Dance Spirit Magazine (as seen on the right) and is the first dancer to be a Gatorade Athlete. She also gets $250,000 to do with as she pleases, as well as a chance to go on tour with amazing dancers from the show. (Robertson, 2012)
The tour began on September 19, 2010 and ended November 17, 2010. During the tour they visited forty cities in the United States as well as one city in Canada. Froderman got to go on tour with competitors from Season 7 along with dancers from other seasons such as Ade Obayommi, Dominic Sandoval, and Kathryn McCormick (Robertson, 2012).
