Her Life Before "SYTYCD
Before entering the show, Lauren Froderman seemed like your typical American Girl. According to an article in The Arizona Republic, McClellan states that Froderman was a part of the dance and cheer teams at her high school in Phoenix, Arizona (McClellan).
Her dancing career started at the young age of three. Since then she has learned many different styles of dance including Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Hip Hop. She even had experience training with some of the choreographers on So You Think You Can Dance prior to her try-out. (Robertson)
In an interview with The Republic, Froderman said "my dance teacher, Miss Peterson, is my number one fan" and that it was her friends and family that pushed her to try-out. When she finally did, I was during a trip to compete in a cheer competition with her squad. She said that it was really random and not planned (McClellan). For trying out on a whim Froderman truly made an impact on the judges.
Some of the professional dancers Froderman looks up to include Mikhail Baryshnikov and Michael Jackson (Robertson).
